The Aggie Experience Council (AEC), a new student organization at Texas A&M University, is dedicated to sharing the Aggie experience with university guests – and telling them the “Texas A&M story.”

Sponsored by the Division of Marketing & Communications, the AEC gives Texas A&M students the opportunity to lead and serve. By leading campus tours, hosting university events, conducting private tours and serving on informational panels, AEC students will represent the Aggie family and extend the Aggie spirit and hospitality to campus visitors.

“Working alongside Marketing & Communications staff, members of AEC will provide service to Texas A&M and be part of high-level university events, aiding organizers in the production and execution of the events. Through their service, these select members will have the opportunity to interact with and engage individuals ranging from top ranking university and government officials to prominent industry leaders,” says Josh Ellison, the university’s external relations project manager.

Students who are enrolled full time, in good standing with their academic colleges and have attended Texas A&M for at least one semester are encouraged to apply for AEC membership. Informational meetings about the new organization will be held during the remainder of February and during March.

“We are delighted to have this organization volunteer its services at the visitor center,” says Estela Feagin, who manages the Appelt Aggieland Visitor Center. “The Aggie Experience Council will have the opportunity to lead visitors on campus tours and share their personal Aggie experiences. They will, in many instances, give visitors their first impression of Texas A&M.”

The Aggie Experience Council selection process includes an application review, audition and interview. The application can be found on the AEC website at aec.tamu.edu. Applications must be received by March 31 and should be delivered in person to the Division of Marketing & Communications, Bizzell Hall East, Suite 304.
