The Texas A&M University Board of Regents today selected Andrew L. Strong as the A&M System’s new general counsel.

Strong is a partner in the Houston office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Prior to joining Pillsbury in 2005, Strong was the managing partner of Campbell, George & Strong LLP, a firm he co-founded in 1994.

Strong has extensive experience litigating and negotiating settlements to complex disputes at both the state and federal levels, and has worked with government entities, public universities and private clients.

“Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience that will serve the A&M System well,” said Bill Jones, chairman of the Board of Regents. “He understands the needs and challenges of higher education, and I know he will prove to be a valuable asset for the A&M System.”
