Lunt Named AgriLife Research Assistant Director
David Lunt has been named assistant director for Texas AgriLife Research, according to agency officials.
Lunt previously served as professor and superintendent of the 6,372-acre AgriLife Research McGregor Center and associate head of operations for the department of animal science at Texas A&M.
As assistant director, Lunt will oversee agency planning, state and federal reporting, and agency internal grant programs that include cropping systems, beef improvement, bioenergy, cotton, fire ants, other areas/responsibilities.
“The addition of Dr. Lunt to our administrative team will enhance the direction and oversight of some of our key program areas and will provide needed administrative support,” said Dr. Mark Hussey, AgriLife Research director and interim vice chancellor for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M. “We’re very pleased to have someone of Dr. Lunt’s expertise and professionalism working with us.”
