Safe Spring Break Week Events Planned

In an effort to encourage students to make safe and responsible decisions during Spring Break, Alcohol and Drug Education Programs is providing a week of events covering a variety of topics that may impact our Aggie Family.

These include “Safe Night Out” at 12:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday (Feb. 28-March 1). Students and staff who will go to the Northgate area bars to distribute water and information about the signs of alcohol poisoning and good decision-making.

On Friday (Feb. 29) beginning at 7 p.m., MSC: Aggie Nights will sponsor “Bring Your Own Banana” (BYOB), where Texas A&M staff will hand out ice cream sundaes during this alcohol free event, along with useful information regarding responsible decision-making.

“Voices of Men” is planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday (March 3) at Rudder Theater. The free one-man play by performer Ben Atherton-Zeman uses humor to stress the importance of men and women working together to end sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, sexual harassment and objectification.

A resource fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday (March 4-5) at Rudder Fountain that will provide information and interactive activities about sun safety, the dangers of drowsy driving, alcohol and other drugs, drunk driving and much more.
