Wind Symphony To Give Carnegie Hall Preview Performance

The Texas A&M University Wind Symphony has been provided with the unique opportunity to travel to New York City to present a concert at the national level in Carnegie Hall.  This performance is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22.

“While there are many factors may prevent one from traveling to New York, we are pleased to present this same concert in College Station prior to our New York departure,” says Tim Rhea, symphony conductor.

The preview performance is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, in Rudder Theatre. He adds that featured soloists on this concert will include Kathryn Woodard, piano, and David Wilborn, bass trombone, both from the Department of Performance Studies.  Travis Almany will also serve as guest conductor.

Free tickets (required) may be acquired from members of the Wind Symphony or by contacting the band office at (979) 845-3529.
