Texas A&M RISE Extending Deadlines For Fellowship Applications, Calls For Papers

Texas A&M Race, Identity and Social Equity (RISE) Program Committee is extending deadlines for call for papers and the undergraduate TAMUR RISE Fellowship application to Nov. 10, 2017.

Part of a yearlong initiative, the TAMU RISE Fellowship provides undergraduate students from various disciplines an opportunity to conduct research with emphasis on race, identity and social equity. Students are selected to attend the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) in American Higher Education and later present their research at the TAMU RISE Conference in spring. Applicants are selected based on their academic interests and achievements as well as their leadership interests and experience.

RISE is also welcoming proposals for panels, individual papers and alternative session formats that allow for audience participation and community engagement. Submissions from undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and staff that would like to present research focused in the RISE areas are encouraged.

The RISE Conference also seeks to provide an opportunity for a campus wide discussion around significant issues of race, identity, and social equity on campus, in the nation, and on a global scale.

All submissions should be sent via email to tamurise@tamu.edu and are due by Nov. 10, 2017

In the email, please include the following:

• Name
• University affiliation
• If Individual paper: include a one-paragraph abstract and a one-page CV/Resume
• If Panel proposal: include a brief description of the panel, a one-paragraph abstract for each paper presentation, a one-page CV/Resume for each panel participant.
• If proposals for alternative format: include one-page description of the session including its format and goals, as well as a one-page CV/Resume for each participant.
• Indicate Audio/Visual equipment needs.
