A reception was held at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center to honor retiring Police Lieutenant John Fisher and Advanced Security Officer Carolyn McGruder-Lyons, for their many years of dedicated service to the Texas A&M University Police Department (UPD).

Lieutenant Fisher began his career with the UPD in 1989.   During his career, John has served in leadership positions in both the Field Operations and Support Services Divisions, achieving the rank of Lieutenant in 1997.  Lieutenant Fisher’s dedication and leadership over the past 27 years to the UPD and the Texas A&M community will truly be missed, say UPD officials.

Security Officer McGruder-Lyons began her career with Texas A&M University in 1993 and the UPD in 1999. During her career, she was assigned security duties on the main campus and the George Bush Presidential Library. Officials say her 20 years of dedication to the UPD and the Texas A&M community, along with her vibrant personality, will truly be missed.

UPD officials note they wish John and Carolyn the best as they begin a new phase of their lives.
