The center was created to educate Aggie’s about money so they can make informed financial decisions in college.
Texas A&M University will dedicate its new Money Education Center on Thursday (Oct. 13) at 3:30 p.m. in the ME Center (Pavilion, 106). Attendees can tour the center and learn more about what it has to offer. The celebration will include a ribbon cutting, refreshments, giveaways and a visit from Reveille.
ME Center officials say the center was created to educate Aggie students about money so they can make informed financial decisions in college and have a better chance of long-term financial success after graduation. The center specializes in a wide variety of personal finance topics including paying for college, money management, student loans, credit cards, credit scores, buying a car, saving and investing, eating on a budget, buying a home, identity theft, and more.
Students can contact the ME Center with any money-related questions and its team of advisors will either assist them directly or refer them to someone who can help.
The center accepts walk-in visitors and one-on-one appointments, and provides presentations across campus both on a scheduled basis and upon request (in classrooms and to student groups).
The center also offers online resources, such as money.tamu.edu and SALT (saltmoney.org/tamu).
The ME Center has developed partnerships and has received support from across campus including from entities such as Texas A&M’s Financial Planning Program, the Corps of Cadets, the Career Center, the Women’s Resource Center, Aggie Agora, and the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Through these partnerships, Money Education officials say the center is becoming a campus-wide movement with the potential of impacting the lives of thousands of Aggies.
