Cadets Head To Dallas-Fort Worth For Corps Trip

It’s “Corps Trip” time for Texas A&M University, meaning the 2,500-plus members of the Corps of Cadets will trek to Fort Worth and march through downtown Saturday morning (Sept. 24) as a prelude to the Aggies-University of Arkansas football game that evening at AT&T Stadium in nearby Arlington.

The cadets will step off at 10 a.m. from the corner of 9th Street and Commerce Street, marching north on Commerce. To view their complete route, go to http://corps.tamu.edu/corps-trip/.

Corps Trip is a Texas A&M tradition that dates back to 1887 with the cadets taking the opportunity to showcase their units by marching through downtowns in conjunction with the Aggies’ football games in major Texas cities.

The Aggie invasion of Fort Worth begins Friday (Sept. 23) when the cadets, other students, alumni and other supporters of the university start arriving for various activities culminating with the traditional Midnight Yell Practice. It will be held in front of the Armour-Swift building at the end of East Exchange Ave. in the Stockyards.

The pre-game All-Aggie Tailgate will begin at 4 p.m. at Silver Lot 14 at the stadium.
