aggie energyTimes are tough and Aggies are always ready and willing to help out a neighbor or a friend. Now Aggie Energy has made it even easier on the pocketbook of Texas A&M fans to support the university with the flip of a switch.

Aggie Energy launched in August and is the official electricity partner of Texas A&M University. Through this innovative program, proud fans can support campus programs at Texas A&M from their homes and businesses, simply by paying their electricity bill. Proceeds from this partnership will provide millions of dollars to fund athletic excellence, Corps of Cadets scholarships and Bonfire Memorial maintenance.

Former students and fans in deregulated regions of Texas have been benefiting from competitive rates for 100% renewable energy and can now choose from additional, affordable partial-green electricity plans. Aggie Energy is powered by one of the nation’s top retail electricity providers, Houston-based Champion Energy Services.

“Our stated goal in Aggie Athletics is Building Champions,” said Texas A&M director of athletics Bill Byrne. “This includes on the playing fields, in the classrooms and in our communities. Partnering with Aggie Energy, powered by Champion Energy Services, is a win for our environment with renewable energy, as well as a win for outstanding support of Texas A&M University and our athletics program.”

Aggie Energy customers also have an exclusive opportunity to receive game tickets, special offers on Aggie gear, access to special promotions and more. The impact one small change could have on the school is limitless; these accounts will continue to create funds for the university as long as they remain active Aggie Energy customers.

Nearly 400 cities in Texas are able to choose Aggie Energy to power their home or business. Aggie fans in these deregulated regions of Texas are encouraged to visit AggieEnergy.com to learn how to switch providers and sign up for Aggie Energy.

“As a former Corps of Cadet member, Aggie Energy represents the convergence of two passions in my life,” said Champion Director of Operations, John Ballenger. “For all of us who love our university, knowing we can contribute to the university’s success simply by choosing Aggie Energy is an exciting proposition.”
